Chantilly Primary School dethrones Lyssons

KINGSTON, Jamaica, February 5, 2019 - The JaVA National U13 Primary School Final took place on Friday, February 1 at the GC Foster College where twelve parish winners participated.

In the semi-finals, Lyssons defeated Dalvey Primary (28-21) and Chantilly defeated New Works All-Age (37-20) to book their places in the final. What was an exciting match, ended with Chantilly dethroning favourites and defending champions Lyssons (21-19)

JaVA was pleased with the standard of play, which saw a marked improvement over previous years.  The competition is being used to lay a platform for identifying new talent and ensuring continuity of the sport through the development of its youth program. Jamaica will be hosting an Under 18 Girls and Under 19 Boys Caribbean Youth Championship in July.
